Tie-Down Violation: Sahara

Tie-Down Violation: Sahara

Jan 19, '21

The completely wrong way to use tie-down straps. Running straps over the tires, without securing to any part of the vehicle itself, does nothing to keep the vehicle in place. In this example, the two straps are not strong enough to keep the vehicle from rolling forward or backward, or off the trailer completely (in the case of a rollover).

Our Solution: Automotive Strap Packs

Always route your tie downs around an un-sprung component like the axle housing. All Mac's automotive tie-down strap packs are equipped with axle straps for just that purpose. Without proper trailer deck anchor points, add Chain Extensions and route through stake pockets.
