More Information

After releasing the axle-housing bracket in 2019, we learned that there are many additional mounting applications, aside from an axle tube, that could benefit from this type of bracket. This new version has a flat back, making it perfect to weld to any square structural vehicle component, including a cross-member, frame rail or truss. The Mac's Flat-Back Bracket is made from 1/4" steel tube which is cut on a tube laser then tumbled for a smooth finish. Designed to be low-lying and to perfectly accept our twisted snap hook, this pair of Mac's Flat-Back Brackets create the perfect permanent tie-down point on nearly any vehicle.

The Weld-On Flat-Back Bracket removes the need for an axle strap, thus creating an abrasion-free tie-down situation. Instead of routing an axle strap over potentially sharp areas, simply clip a ratchet strap to the bracket and run it out to your tie-down point. In addition, by eliminating the need for an axle strap, you also eliminate possible contact with critical vehicle components such as brake lines, wires, and hoses that may be in the way when tying down around the axle. This is also an excellent solution for off-road vehicles that have modified axles or axle trusses, which can be bulky or have rough edges. Mount a pair of these brackets prior to adding your choice of finish and you'll have a beautiful, permanent tie-down point.

The updated design of the Mac's Flat-Back Bracket makes it a great fit for a wide variety of vehicles. Use this pair of brackets on low-profile vehicles to avoid spending time on the ground and under the vehicle when tying down to the axle. When installed on classic cars, they help prevent damage to paint and body, as the only point of contact for the strap becomes the bracket itself.
